    Ovi Shahriar Shekh (Bengali: অভি শেখ; commonly searched as Ovi Sheikh) is an award-winning Bangladeshi AI Engineer, Researcher, and Entrepreneur. He is the Co-Founder of Arklab AI and is widely recognized for winning the National AI Olympiad 2025[8], building and successfully exiting multiple AI startups, and sharing his wisdom and professional experience in technology and entrepreneurship on YouTube. His work spans AI research, product development, and startup strategy, making him one of Bangladesh's most prominent voices in applied artificial intelligence.

    Early Life

    Ovi was very shy, curious, and introverted during his early years. He started his life in his village and developed a deep love for nature. From an early age, he was an avid fan of sci-fi comics and was profoundly inspired by a biography of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam[17], which was gifted to him by his dad. Reading about Dr. Kalam's journey ignited his dream to become a scientist just like him.

    Born and raised in Dhaka, Bangladesh, Ovi Shekh pursued his education in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE). He entered the tech and startup ecosystem early, beginning his entrepreneurial journey in 2018. His technical foundation is deeply rooted in rapid product development, scalable architectures, and practical AI implementation.[19][6][21][22]

    Ovi first encountered the startup world in 2018 through Nahid, a senior at his school who was building a community communication platform. Inspired by stories of Silicon Valley founders, Ovi joined as the lead programmer for the project, which served as his introduction to startup culture and technical mentorship.

    During the COVID-19 pandemic, Ovi and his friend Reduanul Ryad, along with a few other young people who lost their jobs due to the crisis, initiated a service to provide 30-minute delivery of groceries and essential items like medicine and blood platelets. While the initiative was helpful, it struggled with profitability and shifting priorities, making it unsustainable in its original form. As they wound down operations, a Bangladesh-based e-commerce company recognized the value of what they had built and acquired GetGrocery in mid-2023. This marked Ovi's first successful exit, teaching him fundamental lessons about building valuable, acquirable assets.

    During his university studies, he was encouraged to enter the AI sector by his friend Abir Ahmed Himel, who highlighted the rapid advancements in protein folding and biotechnology enabled by AI. This led to early explorations in personalized healthcare and the development of several AI prototypes.

    • 2018: Joined early-stage startup Superchat as a developer (Employee #5), receiving foundational mentorship in startup culture from industry veterans like Nahid.
    • 2020: Co-founded GetGroceryBD with friend Reduanul Ryad during the global pandemic. The service provided 30-minute delivery of groceries, medicine, and blood platelets to citizens during lockdowns.
